Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike): “It’s nice [to lead the KOM standings after this big mountain showdown] but today I definitely didn’t feel like a good climber! It’s a bit of a surprise that I still have the [polka-dot] jersey. I thought Vine would take all the points but it’s a nice feeling to go in the second rest day with the two jerseys. We’ll see what’s possible in the last week. It was a very uncontrolled race and to be honest I didn’t have the legs that I wanted. Quite early in the race I had to decide to take it a bit easier and then I finished in a nice group but with these gradients it’s never easy so it was still a hard day.”
