O’Connor: “Hopefully there’s better days to come”

Ben O’Connor (Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale): “It was a really hard start, and then Israel wanted to bring it back and make it really hard. I’m a bit disappointed with how it went in the end. We had everything controlled and it was Primoz [Roglic], Almeida and some other guys who were dropped [early in the stage]. I was always in front. [Losing 45 seconds] is more than I wanted today, it definitely wasn’t my best day so hopefully there’s better days to come. Tomorrow is very different. I don’t mind these climbs in Sierra Nevada. Hopefully I have a good day and keep this red jersey.”
