Carlos Rodriguez (Ineos Grenadiers): “It was a hard climb for sure. We were expecting it to be hard with the percentages that appear in the roadbook and it was indeed. I think I managed pretty well the effort. I knew more or less how hard I could push and I tried to maintain the same pace from the bottom. In the end, I lost some time to Primoz [Roglic] but I was close to the other favourites and I gained time on some so, yes, I’m happy with the result, and hopefully I can keep these good feelings for the rest of the stages.”
