ALL IN BIKING, a tech company from Alicante, joins La Vuelta as an official provider in order to raise awareness regarding some of the main problems faced by cyclists in their daily lives, such as bicycle theft or the riders’ exposure and vulnerability when suffering a mishap or accident.
The startup, a leader in the cycling sector, uses highly disruptive technology in order to connect to the user and his bike through Blockchain and Smart Contract. In the case of theft, for example, a process is activated whereby the app brings together the cycling community, government agencies and other users in order to favour its recovery and to prevent its fraudulent sale in second-hand markets.
According to the Bicycle Barometer statistics, (a national study carried out by the Network of Bike-Friendly Cities) 1 out of every 5 cyclists has fallen victim to bicycle theft in the last 5 years – an unpleasant feeling that many cycling fans continue to experience today. ALL IN BIKING’s addition as a new La Vuelta sponsor is an important milestone for the company, in terms of its commitment to bringing an end to the constant impunity surrounding bicycle theft, thus helping the cycling community.
‘Much like myself, José Julio Becerril, ALL IN BIKING’s founder and president, also shares La Vuelta’s team spirit and feeling of solidarity, of being part of the same community of cyclists that look out for one another,’ explained Juan Antonio Cano, CEO of ALL IN BIKING.
For Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta, ‘Initiatives such as the one by ALL IN BIKING reflect the importance of adopting technologies that improve the security of cyclists and their bikes. Protecting users is something that all of us who are, in some way, linked to the world of cycling must fight for.’
