Two months after its debut in the 2020 Tour de France, the new ŠKODA ENYAQ iV will once again enjoy the international limelight at La Vuelta, on the roads of the individual time-trial (stage 13) from Muros to Mirador de Ézaro. Dumbría. They've been equipped with all the telecommunication systems necessary for the General Director of La Vuelta, the UCI commissaire and the technical director to use this advanced technology from today, as they follow three of the top 5 riders of the overall classification: Richard Carapaz, Primoz Roglic and Enric Mas.
The head of technical development for ŠKODA, Christian Strube, recalled that the ŠKODA ENYAQ iV is perfectly suited for daily uses as well as long distance driving with its fast charging and an autonomy of up to 510km (WLTP). “The many possible combinations, for example in terms of battery sizes and power, make the modular electric car platform a perfect technical basis for our fully electric vehicles”, he added.
In the coming days, ŠKODA’s new, all-electric flagship will accompany the cyclists on two more stages (17 and 18) and will be equipped with a wide range of specialised technology to ensure the smooth coordination of the race.
ŠKODA STANDS OUT FOR ITS NEW SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND FOR THE USE OF SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
The ENYAQ iV replaces the classic trim levels and stands out for the use of sustainable materials with which it meets all the requirements of the competition. In addition, it offers a large 13-inch screen, a new Virtual Cockpit and specific online services to facilitate the transmission of information to and from the vehicle itself. The SUV can automatically warn of collisions with other vehicles or fixed obstacles, thus preventing an accident completely or at least minimising its consequences. The interiors of La Vuelta's ENYAQ iV stand out for their upholstery, with decorative ornaments and a dashboard created with different materials.
In addition to its participation in La Vuelta as a main sponsor, ŠKODA supports the Tour de France and other international cycle races.
