The Vuelta Junior Cofidis will celebrate 10 years of training children in road education and healthy lifestyle habits, as confirmed by the entities behind the sports-training program. Thus, in 2020, the 10th edition of the project is secured.
This week the stages of La Vuelta Junior Cofidis 2019 will be contested in Guadalajara, Toledo and Madrid. The Alberto Contador Foundation is newly incorporated in the cast of entities behind the project in addition to the launch of an education campaign about road safety with Luis Ángel Maté, cyclist of the Cofidis team, as an image of the hand of the General Directorate of Traffic.
A PROJECT WITH ALMOST TEN YEARS OF HISTORY
The Vuelta Junior Cofidis is a program to promote the use of bicycles, healthy lifestyles and road education promoted since 2011 by the financial institution, which has already trained more than 225,000 children throughout Spain. Together with Cofidis, the Young Sports Foundation (FDJ) of the CSD (Higher Sports Council), La Vuelta, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and the Association of Professional Cyclists (ACP) are part of it, as well as the Alberto Contador Foundation for the first year.
