Michal Kwiatkowski (Team Sky), overall leader: “It was nice to be up there at the front of the bunch, out of trouble. It was a very nervous finish, I would say a lot of guys tried to break, with a lot of roundabouts and corners, short little climbs. For that, it is always better to be on the front, also controlling Alejandro Valverde because I know he really wants this red jersey. I tried to stay behind him and not allowing him to get any bonifications. It was a nice stage, congrats to Elia Viviani and the whole Quick Step team because they did a really hard job all day. Tomorrow we’ll need to be very smart in the final climb.”
