Alberto Contador (Trek-Segafredo): “I was riding with too big a gear when Froome attacked and it was really hard to make the jump. He was very strong. There are good days and bad days and maybe the legs came a little bit short to fight for the victory. But I think we're not in too bad a situation. The pace was really fast in the climb. It was also a windy day. Cannondale controlled and we knew that we'd try to win the stage for myself but I couldn't. Froome is a rider who likes to open differences. He had a gap with me but not with others. I could say the week went fine all in all but the day at Andorra wasn't good. But I can be optimistic, there are things to do. Froome and his team are proving to be really strong, let's see if they can keep up until Madrid. To win La Vuelta isn't impossible, but it's difficult. I'll enjoy day by day, without pressure.”
