The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is, without a doubt, the emblem of the city of Zaragoza. Located along the banks of the Ebro River, the temple presides over the Plaza del Pilar, one of Europe’s largest pedestrian plazas, and serves as the entry point to the many winding streets and plazas that make up the city’s historical centre. Francisco de Goya, one of the most universally-renowned Aragon artists, has left his mark all over the capital’s streets and, in particular, the Goya Museum.
