To speak of climbing Cerler is to speak of a classic 90s La Vuelta climb. It made its debut as a finish-line in 1987 and was present in the race for five consecutive editions, eventually totalling nine editions before the turn of the century. The Cerler Ski Resort, one of the highest-rated in Spain, features the country’s longest ski slope: 9 downhill kilometres from the ski resort’s highest point to Cerler.
