Birthplace of one of the cyclists with the best records in the Giro d’Italia, Giobanni Brunero. He was the first rider to win the ‘pink race’ on three occasions, with victories in 1921, 1922 and 1926. San Maurizio Canavese will be the only Italian host city in La Vuelta 25 to make its debut in a grand tour as, unlike the others, it has never hosted either departures or finish-lines for the Giro d’Italia or for the Giro d’Italia Women.
