Alba is considered the capital of the Langhe-Roero and Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage Site, which encompasses five winegrowing areas with beautiful vineyard landscapes including the Cavour Castle, a key figure in the development of the region’s winemaking culture. In terms of gastronomy, Alba is globally renowned for its white truffles and for being the multinational headquarters of Ferrero, famous for its chocolate products. The city is twinned with the Catalan municipality of San Cugat del Vallés.
